Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and future-focused Games Art Director to lead our sector-leading Games provision in BA Games Art & Design and BSc Games Development at Norwich University of the Arts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To advance and grow the vision of the disciplines at Norwich, debating and contributing to contemporary shifts in the industry and society more widely.
  • To work closely with the Director of Computer Arts and Technology to promote the awards, contribute to new course development, and work with industry bodies to advance the disciplines.
  • To develop and deliver significant collaborative projects with a strong network of industry partners.
  • To equip students with the social and cultural capital to confidently grasp graduate-level opportunities and challenges.

About You:

You will be an enthusiastic academic leader with vision, insight, commitment, and skills to further develop, deliver, and promote Norwich's Games provision.

You will have substantial knowledge of the national and international games sector and experience in developing networks between education and industry.

A background in an area directly related to the games industry and a national profile as a creative practitioner, industry professional, and/or researcher is essential.

You will have specialist subject knowledge in a relevant curriculum area, such as Concept Art, Asset Production, Indie / Games Development, Games programming, etc.

Requirements:

  • An excellent teacher who puts inclusivity at the heart of their practice.
  • The ability to work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, bringing diverse voices into our student experience.
  • A collaborative and collegiate approach to leadership and teamworking.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
