Sound Archive Analyst Position UK

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join our research team at the International Association of Sound and Audiovisual Archives.
The successful candidate will be working on the development of acoustic analysis tools for sound archives, which will enable users to find and access sounds in new and innovative ways.
The post is full-time for 14 months starting from February 2013 and is based at the Centre for Digital Music at Queen Mary University of London.
Key Duties- To investigate and develop non-speech, non-music acoustic analysis techniques for sound archives
- To work with the research group to design and implement user-friendly interfaces for accessing sound archives
- To contribute to the development of machine learning algorithms for sound recognition
What You Need to Succeed
- PhD in a relevant field (e.g. computer science, engineering, music technology)
- Expertise in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB
- Strong background in machine learning and signal processing
- Eligibility to work in the UK
