SEN Support Worker Role

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Support Worker to join our team at Wayman Learning Trust. As an SEN Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support to students with diverse learning needs.

Job Summary
  • This is a full-time, permanent position within a welcoming and supportive SEN environment.
  • You will work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to implement individualized learning plans tailored to each student's unique needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students in overcoming both learning and social challenges by providing encouragement, guidance, and practical support throughout their daily activities.
  • Help create a positive and engaging classroom atmosphere that fosters participation and builds confidence among students.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance your skills in SEN support and contribute to the school's inclusive ethos.
  • Engage with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and collaborate on strategies for home support.
Requirements
  • Prior experience in an SEN or support role is highly desirable, with a preference for candidates who have worked with children with special educational needs.
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to learning challenges, with the ability to respond effectively to the diverse needs of students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building trusting relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A current and clear Enhanced DBS check is essential to ensure the safety and security of all students.
