Forensic Specialist in Learning Disability Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled Forensic Specialist in Learning Disability Medicine to join our team at Mersey Care, one of the largest trusts providing physical health and mental health services in the North West.
This part-time position offers a unique opportunity to work with patients who have learning disabilities and forensic needs. As a Consultant Psychiatrist and Approved Clinician, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality care delivery through comprehensive psychiatric services in Cheshire and Merseyside.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fulfill Community Responsible Clinician responsibilities for patients accepted into the service
- Provide outpatient or community clinics and home visits
- Participate in regular MDT meetings, CPA reviews, MAPPA, safeguarding, risk reviews, and clinical leadership
- Liaise with forensic support services and attend professional meetings
The role requires close working with Cheshire and Merseyside Learning Disability services and Mersey Care Forensic LD services.

Required Skills and QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you must:
- Hold CCT in Psychiatry and be eligible for inclusion in the Specialist Register or within 6 months of gaining CCT
- Have knowledge and experience of assessing and treating individuals with learning disabilities and autism
- Treat individuals with forensic needs
- Awareness of current issues in mental health service provision, Transforming Care policy, and legislation
This part-time post includes flexible working arrangements, including consideration of requests for flexible hours.
Salary and BenefitsEstimated salary: £105,504 - £139,882 per annum, pro rata, plus 10% R&R (non-contractual)
