MDD Forensic Accountants is seeking a skilled Forensic Accounting Specialist to join our team in London, ON. Our professionals help evaluate and determine litigation damages, business valuations, and insurance claims in a clear and concise manner that can stand up to scrutiny.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and/or Masters, working towards the Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA), and up to 3 years of work experience. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently and as a team are essential.

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for preliminary to intermediate analysis of sales, production, and other accounting data, physical inventory observation, and examination of source documents pertinent to the engagement. They will also conduct phone, video, or in-person interviews to obtain information, perform research, data analysis, and evaluation, and attend marketing events and functions with clients.

Key Responsibilities

The tasks performed by the Staff Accountant will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Preliminary to intermediate analysis of sales, production, and other accounting data
  2. Physical inventory observation, price testing
  3. Examination of source documents pertinent to the engagement
  4. Check and proof reports and schedules
  5. Conduct phone, video, or in-person interviews to obtain information
  6. Research, data analysis, and evaluation
  7. Invoice analysis
  8. Attend marketing events and functions with clients
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree and/or Masters
  2. Working towards the Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA)
  3. Up to 3 years of work experience (post-degree)
  4. Strong attention to detail
  5. Ability to problem solve
  6. Able to work independently and as a team
  7. Must be able to work under pressure or tight deadlines
  8. Ability to understand a business and how loss events have impacted it
  9. Willingness to accept increasing responsibility as experience grows
  10. Additional language skills considered an asset
