Consultant in Psychiatry Learning Disabilities Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Forensic Intellectual and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (FIND) Community Team in South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust.
The successful candidate will provide medical leadership to the team, working closely with multidisciplinary professionals to deliver high-quality, recovery-focused care to adults with learning disabilities and/or autism who experience co-morbid mental illness and offending behaviors.
Key Responsibilities- Provide medical leadership to the FIND Community Team, ensuring the delivery of effective, efficient, and safe mental health care.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, working closely with patients, families, and carers to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of the FIND Team, including service planning, audit, and research initiatives.
- Supervise junior medical staff and staff from allied disciplines, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
- Primary Medical degree and inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Forensic or Learning Disability Psychiatry.
- Section 12 (2) approval of the Mental Health Act and a minimum of three years' full-time training in an approved higher psychiatric training scheme.
- Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities and/or autism, including risk assessment and management, and interface with the Criminal Justice system.
