Genetic Counsellor

We are seeking an experienced Genetic Counsellor to join our team at the Manchester Centre for Genomic Medicine. This is a six-month post to cover a sabbatical vacancy, providing an excellent opportunity for an overseas candidate to gain experience in the UK.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will contribute to our clinical services in urgent prenatal, cancer, or general genetic counselling. They will work closely with our multidisciplinary team, including metabolic, immunology, cardiac, prenatal, and ophthalmology services.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake a range of genetic counsellor duties, including independent genetic counsellor clinics, genetic register work, peripheral clinics, pre-natal/urgent referral work, and supervision or teaching of other staff members.
- Provide high-quality genetic counselling and testing for a wide variety of conditions, with supervision and training where needed.
- Participate in our urgency rota to provide genetic counselling in demanding situations (pregnancy, NICU, PICU, and urgent cancer referrals).
