Genetic Counsellor

We are seeking an experienced Genetic Counsellor to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality genetic counselling and testing for a wide range of conditions.
Key Responsibilities:- Undertake genetic counsellor duties, including independent genetic counsellor clinics, genetic register work, peripheral clinics, pre-natal/urgent referral work, and supervision or teaching of other staff members.
- Provide genetic counselling and testing for a variety of conditions, with supervision and training where needed.
- Participate in our urgency rota to provide genetic counselling in demanding situations.
- Eligible to Register with HCPC or GCRAB.
- Experience in genetic counselling, case management.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Evidence of excellent communication and counselling skills.
- Experience in teaching and education.
- Registered GC (including overseas GC Registration).
Opportunities for CPD through a lively programme of internal seminars and lectures, as well as access to external education and training.
A strong commitment to education and training, with a designated Genomic Laboratory Hub and a Scientist Training Programme (STP) in Genomic Counselling coordinated through this department.
