Hays Accountancy & Finance is partnering with a well-established construction SME to recruit a dynamic Finance Manager to join their close-knit team in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

About the Role

This is a varied accounting role that involves supervising a finance assistant and reporting directly to the Managing Director. As a permanent finance role, you will have the opportunity to make the position your own, manage your own workload, and support process improvement as the business grows further.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer the group accounts in the financial system, including preparation of consolidated management accounts, year-end preparation to trail balance, and detailed reporting.
  • Support annual audit compliance, process VAT reconciliations and returns across the group, and record income/expenditure.
  • Reconcile banks, loans, and credit cards, process weekly/monthly expenses, reconcile intercompany balances, produce creditor reports, manage the purchase ledger processes, journal processing, and construction industry scheme administration.
  • Provide reporting for allocation of costs, assist with ad-hoc analysis, be involved in monthly payroll processing, and support/supervise the finance assistant.
  • Support the FD and Senior Management Team with ad-hoc projects and financial duties.
Requirements

To be considered for this hands-on Finance Manager role, you will need experience within a similar position, used to varied and hands-on accounting roles, and adaptable to business needs. Strong communication skills to build relationships both internally and externally with non-financial management, with experience in financial systems and MS Excel skills. Ideally, you will be part-qualified/qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA or qualified by experience.

What We Offer

This permanent Finance Manager role offers a salary between £40,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience, based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire. Full-time hours, however, part-time could be considered for the right finance professional.
