Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Scheduler to join our Regional Engineering Team at Nationwide Platforms. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring an excellent customer experience during the breakdown journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Breakdown Planning: Coordinate and plan mobile engineering resources effectively to ensure quick resolution of breakdowns and efficient management of mobile resources.
  • Field Job Planning: Plan other types of field jobs, such as LOLER inspections, overload tests, and others.
  • Workload Management: Ensure effective and balanced workload of mobile engineers.
  • Procurement: Raise purchase orders to third-party suppliers for work undertaken.
  • Supplier Coordination: Coordinate appropriate external suppliers' attendances of breakdowns.
  • Breakdown Review: Continuously review any breakdowns that require revisits and follow up with depots spare parts orders for machines on hire.
  • Machine Exchange: Coordinate machines exchanges with depots and admin teams, keeping fully apprised of ongoing activities.
  • Customer Communication: Efficiently communicate with customers regarding the status of breakdowns, planned machine swap-outs, revisits, etc.
  • Reporting: Produce and distribute appropriate technical reports and follow up KPI data.
  • Breakdown Closure: Maintain effective, up-to-date reports on all breakdowns to ensure their prompt closure.
Requirements:
  • Geographical Knowledge: Good understanding of UK geography.
  • Planning and Resourcing: Understanding of planning and resourcing activities.
  • Communication Skills: Credible communicator, oral and written, with customer-facing experience.
  • Initiative and Prioritization: Ability to work on their own initiative, being proactive and properly prioritize the day-to-day activity in accordance with set targets.
  • Communication and Navigation: Good upward and downward communication skills and an ability to navigate the organization to gain the best result.
  • IT Skills: Excellent IT skills – Excel, email, and internal systems.
  • Time Management: Good time management skills.
  • Pressure and Deadlines: Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
