Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Business Services Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with Access to Information legislation and Information Governance practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the department's response to information requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
  • Advise and support colleagues on compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK General Data Protection Regulation, providing guidance on relevant regulations and best practices.
  • Educate colleagues on their duties related to Access to Information issues, providing training and support to ensure a high level of understanding and compliance.
  • Assist in Council project work by conducting Data Protection Impact Assessments, drafting Sharing Agreements, and creating Privacy Notices.

Requirements:

  • Excellent organisational, administrative, and communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of retention schedules, records management, and data classification, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical and effective way.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
