The Derbyshire County Council is seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our team. As a Data Protection Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Data Protection Team in delivering advice and guidance to our schools on the practical application of the data protection legislation.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Contribute to the performance of our team's duties as Data Protection Officer for the schools that subscribe to our Data Protection service.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our service offerings.
  • Take ownership of various projects and service delivery areas.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working relationship with schools across the country.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on data protection legislation and its application in a school setting.

**Requirements**

  • Experience and knowledge of working with Information Requests, especially Subject Access Requests and Freedom of Information Requests.
  • Working knowledge and in-depth understanding of the data protection legislation.
  • Proactive, highly motivated individual with enthusiasm, drive, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities.
