Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Surfacing Operative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing tasks as directed by the Foreperson, maintaining plant and equipment safety, and mentoring less experienced operatives. Your success in this role will be driven by your ability to consistently complete tasks on time, taking pride in delivering a product of superior quality and having a keen eye for detail. Teamwork is key while working within our surfacing squads with all members being able to work under their own initiative in showing their willingness to learn and develop.
Responsibilities
- Execute tasks as directed by the Foreperson, ensuring adherence to instructions and safety protocols.
- Maintain, operate, and ensure the safety of all plant and equipment.
- Keep personal protective equipment (PPE) in excellent condition.
- Mentor and support less experienced operatives.
- Maintain professional working practices and comply with company and safety procedures.
- Report all accidents, incidents, and any concerns affecting quality and safety.
Requirements
- CSCS card and driving license preferred but not essential; comprehensive industry training provided.
- Keen interest in the construction materials industry and heavy mobile plant machinery operations.
- Desire to learn and grow within the industry, with a focus on safety and quality.
