About the Role

We are seeking an experienced manager to lead our Patient Services Team, responsible for delivering high-quality community ophthalmology services. As Patient Services Manager, you will be part of our local management team, reporting directly to our Deputy Service Director.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring seamless patient journeys from referral to treatment, with a focus on exceptional patient experience.
  • Supporting the team to provide a professional and patient-focused service, with accurate records and quality data outputs.
  • Monitoring clinic activity, capacity, and demand for appointments, with robust rota management and maximum clinic fill.
  • Improving administrative and system processes to reflect clinical pathways and ensure SOPs are up-to-date and adhered to.
  • Managing direct reports, including recruitment, personal development, training, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience in managing teams within the last 12 months.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, with a good understanding of referral management systems and patient pathways.
  • Management qualification NVQ level 4 in Business Administration or equivalent.
  • Experience in a private healthcare setting is an advantage.
  • Critical reasoning skills and decision-making ability.
