Financial Operations Assistant

We are working on behalf of a leading M&E contractor based in Washington and surrounding areas, who pride themselves on commitment to quality, innovation, and client satisfaction. As they continue to grow, they require a dedicated Financial Operations Assistant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth financial operations. This includes assisting with invoicing, processing payments, and managing accounts payable and receivable.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the preparation and processing of invoices.
  • Purchase Ledger – including delivery notes, invoices, payments.
  • Sales Ledger – sales applications and invoicing.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, and collections.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and update accounting databases.
  • Reconcile bank statements and assist with month-end closing procedures.
  • Process payroll for staff.
  • Deal with petty cash and Barclaycard.
  • Respond to queries from clients and suppliers regarding invoices and payments.
  • Assist in general administrative tasks as needed.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar role is preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks) is an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
