About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Workplace Strategist to join our team at McGregor Boyall. As a key member of our Modern Workplace Technology function, you will be responsible for driving the vision, strategy, and operational support for our Virtual Desktop and Virtual Application capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive plan for the development, delivery, and continual improvement of our Azure Virtual Desktop personal and multi-session products.
  • Ensure that our Azure Virtual Desktop offerings meet the experience, performance, security, and scalability needs of our organization.
  • Champion a DevOps/SRE approach, engineering products, and driving an automation-first agenda, embracing Infrastructure as Code principles to achieve consistent delivery.
  • Contribute to defining roadmaps and strategies for technologies, tools, and architectures.
  • Manage the definition, prioritization, and delivery of the Virtualization product backlog.
  • Work with stakeholders, including Modern Workplace Product Owners and Business lines, to ensure technologies align with our IT and Business strategies.
  • Ensure the delivery organization is properly resourced with appropriate planning for growth and that all delivery teams have been trained in appropriate methodologies and understand their role.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in Infrastructure Engineering and Operations of M365, Device Management, and Virtualization Technology, including Azure Virtual Desktops and Azure Infrastructure.
  • A good understanding of Infrastructure Automation, including Terraform, Infrastructure as Code, and Configuration as Code.
  • Passionate about customer experience and outcomes driven by technology.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Nice to have:
    • A good understanding of Security and Compliance requirements in regulated environments.
    • Experience in Architecture Design notes and Governance.
    • PowerShell scripting for Azure administration and automation.
    • Experience with Bicep (or ARM templates) for defining and deploying Azure resources.
    • Strong understanding of networking, Active Directory, and Group Policy.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
