About the RoleThe Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS) is seeking an experienced and skilled Industrial Officer to join our team in Glasgow. As an Industrial Officer, you will play a key role in promoting and defending the rights of PCS members, negotiating with employers, and developing and implementing union policies.
Key Responsibilities- Negotiate with employers on behalf of PCS members to achieve better pay, conditions, and working practices.
- Develop and implement union policies and strategies to promote the interests of PCS members.
- Represent PCS members at meetings with employers, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Provide advice and support to PCS members on employment rights, equality legislation, and other relevant issues.
- Work with PCS activists and members to build a strong and active union presence in the workplace.
- Experience of trade union work, particularly in industrial relations and negotiations.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, equality legislation, and other relevant issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to PCS values and principles.
