Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our Trident Engineering team, working on the integration of the Strategic Weapons System and Supporting Systems into the Dreadnought Class Submarine.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engineering support/input to the Task Authorisation Forms & rectification of GFE material
  • Reviewing US supplied documents for impact on the UK platform and distributing them to internal stakeholders for review and comment
  • Engaging with the Change Management community via the Enterprise Change Request (ECR) process to ensure a full impact assessment is conducted
  • Providing engineering SQEP to assist with verification of US & UK requirements
  • Assisting in the development of an enduring Trident Engineering capability
  • Encouraging and guiding continuous improvement, challenging current practice where appropriate

Your Skills and Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, you will need to have:

Essential:

  • An engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Chartership or working towards
  • A strong understanding of the role of an SSBN, its mission and how the SWS contributes to it
  • A detailed knowledge of the operation of the SWS and the platform equipment and services required to meet availability targets

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the US-supplied product and how they impact on UK platform design
  • Ability to contribute to the SWS Engineering/integration aspects of documentation reviews, design reviews and decision panels
  • A basic understanding of Life Cycle Management
