Job Title

The Lead Defence Integration Expert will be a key member of the Trident Engineering team at BAE Systems. This role involves working on the integration of the Strategic Weapons System and Supporting Systems into the Dreadnought Class Submarine.

We are seeking an experienced professional who can bring their expertise to this role. The successful candidate will have excellent engineering skills and a strong understanding of the Strategic Weapons System.

£70,000 - £90,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities

The Lead Defence Integration Expert will be responsible for:

  • Providing engineering support/input to Task Authorisation Forms & rectification of GFE material
  • Reviewing US supplied documents for impact to the UK platform and distributing them to internal Stakeholders for review and comment
  • Engaging with the Change Management community via the Enterprise Change Request process to ensure a full impact assessment is conducted
  • Working with the team and other stakeholders providing Engineering SQEP to assist with verification of US & UK requirements
  • Assisting in the development of an enduring Trident Engineering capability
  • Encouraging and guiding continuous improvement, challenging current practice where appropriate
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Chartership or working towards
  • Understanding of the role of an SSBN, its mission and how the Strategic Weapon System contributes to it
  • Understanding of the operation of the SWS and the platform equipment and services required to allow it to meet availability targets
