About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated Criminology Graduate to join our team as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA). The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting vulnerable children facing mental health challenges.
The LSA will work with children dealing with childhood trauma, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, attachment disorders, and PTSD. You will provide emotional and therapeutic support, guiding them through their school day and helping them to succeed both academically and personally.
The majority of students at the school have complex mental health needs and come from challenging backgrounds. You will play a key role in implementing a therapeutic approach in the classroom, helping students develop resilience and engage in their education.
Key Responsibilities- Provide emotional and therapeutic support to students
- Implement a therapeutic approach in the classroom
- Collaborate with Teachers, Speech Therapists, and Occupational Therapists
The ideal candidate will be compassionate, approachable, and passionate about working with vulnerable children. A Criminology or Psychology graduate is ideal for this position.
You will be able to apply your knowledge to understand student behavior, identify triggers for negative behaviors, and recognize underlying learning challenges. This role will provide you with first-hand experience working with children who are at risk of criminal influence, giving you the opportunity to learn de-escalation techniques and conflict resolution strategies.
Benefits- Competitive daily rate: £85-£95 per day (based on experience, training, and qualifications)
- Long-term temporary contract, with potential for permanent
- Full-time hours: Monday to Friday (8:30 am - 3:30 pm)
