Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Advocate to join our team at Sheffield City Council. As an Advocate, you will play a vital role in promoting the educational achievement of Children Looked After (CLA) and working closely with schools and other education providers to ensure the best possible education for these children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Hold a caseload of Children Looked After and promote their educational achievement, monitoring their progress and challenging schools to ensure the best possible education.
  • Work closely with social workers and other professionals to provide support and guidance to CLA and their families.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with schools and other education providers to ensure that CLA receive the best possible education.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote the educational achievement of CLA.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as social work, education, or a related field.
  • Experience working with Children Looked After and their families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong understanding of the needs and challenges faced by Children Looked After and their families.

Working Arrangements:

  • Full-time employees work 37 hours per week for 52 weeks of the year.
