Job Summary:
We are seeking two experienced Trading Standards Officers to join our team at Sheffield City Council. As a Trading Standards Officer, you will be responsible for a range of duties within the Commercial Team, including product safety, metrology, illicit tobacco and vapes, underage sales and food and feed standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Deal with consumer complaints and provide guidance on consumer rights.
- Work with colleagues to identify and address potential risks to public safety.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with other teams to achieve shared goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification such as the Trading Standards Practitioner Diploma or equivalent.
- At least two years post-qualification experience for the Senior Trading Standards Officer role.
- Experience of working in a regulatory role, dealing with consumer complaints, and conducting inspections.
- Awareness of and experience in the application of investigatory requirements, such as PACE, RIPA, and CPIA.
