Birmingham, Birmingham, United Kingdom Amazon TA Full time
About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Reliability Maintenance Engineering Technician to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our equipment and workspaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform proactive and preventative maintenance tasks on a wide range of site equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Carry out reactive repairs and fault diagnosis in a live distribution warehouse, using advanced tools and techniques to maximize equipment effectiveness.
  • Uphold all health and safety policies and practices, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Support the development and progression of on-site apprentices, providing guidance and mentorship to help them grow in their roles.
  • Work on continuous improvement projects, identifying opportunities to enhance the operational environment and implement best practices across multiple EU sites.
A Day in the Life

As an RME Technician, you will be based on-site, responding quickly to any machinery issues that arise. Your day will be filled with a range of planned preventative maintenance tasks, as well as responding to breakdowns and implementing solutions to minimize downtime.

You will work closely with senior colleagues, undertaking day-to-day maintenance tasks such as painting and plumbing, and liaising with contractors as needed to ensure external expertise is brought in when required.

With a focus on delivering at speed, you will work on a range of shifts to ensure our sites are supported around the clock, allowing Amazon to meet its high standards of customer service.

About the Team

Our Reliability Maintenance Engineering team is a technically-minded group of excellent team players, guided by experienced leaders who oversee the team's work on exciting technology projects.

We work together to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment across our global network of fulfillment centers, handling most aspects of Amazon's technical side, including keeping buildings legally compliant and operating at maximum efficiency.

With opportunities for progression both within the RME team and more widely across Amazon, we are committed to reducing downtime in our critical operations sites, ensuring customers receive their orders on time.
