Behaviour and Pupil Support Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Behaviour and Pupil Support Worker to join our Secondary Alternative Provision school in Preston. As a dedicated professional, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing strategies to improve the behaviour of pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This specialist school follows an inclusive philosophy, providing full-time education for up to 125 SEMH pupils who require additional support. Our goal is to equip each pupil with the skills, knowledge, and qualifications needed to reintegrate into mainstream education or pursue further opportunities.

The successful candidate will form strong relationships with our pupils, enabling them to achieve their academic and personal potential. To excel in this role, you will need:

  • To have a thorough understanding of working with challenging behaviour.
  • To hold Level 2 Numeracy and Level 2 Literacy or GCSE equivalent.
  • To undergo an Enhanced DBS Disclosure and provide overseas Police Clearances if applicable.
  • To ensure your CV covers all employment and education since leaving secondary school.
  • To have the legal right to work in the UK.

Desirable qualifications include a relevant Level 3 qualification and experience of following safeguarding procedures in an educational setting. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is essential.

The estimated salary for this role is £22,000-£28,000 per annum, depending on experience.
