About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity to join our specialist team in Blackpool Council as a Child Welfare Specialist. As a key member of our Infant Team, you will play a vital role in promoting family-centered care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for vulnerable children and their families.
Your primary responsibility will be to conduct thorough pre-birth and early-life assessments, identifying potential risks and developing protective plans to safeguard infants' welfare. You will work closely with multi-agency partners to ensure a coordinated approach to family support and collaborate with colleagues to achieve desired outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-birth and early-life assessments, identifying potential risks and developing protective plans to safeguard infants' welfare.
- Lead child protection plans, child in need assessments, and oversee care proceedings as required.
- Support positive parenting and stability within families, upholding the principles of Born Into Care.
- Prioritize family-centered care and collaborate with multi-agency partners to achieve desired outcomes.
Requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker status with current Social Work England registration.
- Proven experience in social work, particularly within child protection, family support, or early intervention.
- Strong assessment and report-writing skills, making clear recommendations based on evidence.
- A commitment to safeguarding children's welfare and excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with multi-agency partners.
