About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Children's Registered Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for Children's Haemoglobinopathy. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of children and young people with Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work in the Child Health Directorate to provide an effective service for children and young people with Sickle Cell and Thalassaemia.
  • Develop and deliver innovative and evidence-based practice through professional leadership, supporting the clinical team to develop the specialist area of care.

Person Specification
  • Current Children's Nursing Registration: RSCN/RN-Child
  • Degree Level Nursing/Health related studies
Desirable
  • Clinical Health Assessment Skills Qualification
  • Mentorship or equivalent
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years post-registration experience
  • Ability to prioritise workload in response to service need
  • Ability to work autonomously and be accountable for own actions
Personal Qualities/skills
  • Effective communicator both written and oral
  • IT skills, including keyboard and word processing skills
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team across all care and organisational settings.
