About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Children's Nurse to join our team at Dougie Macmillan Hospice. As a Children's Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
  • Work in partnership with other professionals and agencies to provide planned child and family-focused care.
  • Act as an advisory role to other professionals and staff from other agencies in respect of palliative care for children and families.
  • Contribute to the training, education, and support of a range of both medical and nursing students on clinical placement with the Hospice.
  • Coordinate shifts, off-duty, and sickness records in the absence of the Team Leader.

Person Specification:

  • Registered Children's Nurse (RNCB)
  • ENB 998 or C&G 7307 or equivalent
  • Experience of partnership working across agencies, including social care, education, and the voluntary sector
  • Experience of working in a skill-mixed team of staff
  • Experience of working with children with additional needs, physical, and/or learning disabilities
  • Experience of working with children and families with complex needs
  • Experience of working in different settings
