Children's Nurse Specialist

Dougie Macmillan Hospice is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Children's Nurse to join our team. As a Children's Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to children and young people with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Main Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for children and young people with life-limiting conditions.
- Work in partnership with other professionals and agencies to provide planned child and family-focused care.
- Act as an advisory role to other professionals and staff from other agencies in respect of palliative care for children and families.
- Contribute to the training, education, and support of a range of both medical and nursing students on clinical placement with the Hospice.
- Coordinate shifts, off-duty, and sickness records in the absence of the Team Leader.
- Registered Children's Nurse (RNCB) qualification.
- ENB 998 or C&G 7307 or equivalent.
- Experience of partnership working across agencies, including social care, education, and the voluntary sector.
- Experience of working in a skill-mixed team of staff.
- Experience of working with children with additional needs, physical, and/or learning disabilities.
- Experience of working with children and families with complex needs.
- Experience of working in different settings.
- Clinical experience, with post-qualification experience working with children with life-limiting/life-threatening conditions in an acute, community, residential, or palliative care setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of palliative care, loss, and bereavement.
