Job Summary:

Prospero Teaching is seeking a skilled Behavioural Support Specialist to deliver person-centred support to individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions, and mental health problems. The successful candidate will work in a school setting, providing 1:1 support to children and young people who require additional assistance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver individualised support to students with complex needs and challenging behaviours
  • Work collaboratively with the school team to develop and implement support plans
  • Provide de-escalation training and strategies to manage challenging behaviour
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Participate in professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge

Requirements:
  • Experience working with children and young people with complex needs and challenging behaviours
  • De-escalation training and experience in managing challenging behaviour
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy and understanding of the needs of students with complex needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
