Job Overview

Veritas Education Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at an Outstanding SEN School in Southport. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs to achieve their full potential.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with SEN students, be confident in behaviour management and de-escalation strategies, and have good knowledge of the National Curriculum. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support the holistic development of students.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide support to students with special educational needs in a one-on-one or small group setting.
  2. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere by promoting social skills and emotional well-being.
  3. Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement effective teaching strategies.
  4. Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teaching staff on areas of strength and weakness.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Education or related field.
  • Experience working with students with special educational needs.
  • Confidence in behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
  • Good knowledge of the National Curriculum.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

Estimated Salary: £85-100 per day.
