Job Description

East Kent Rape Crisis Centre is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to fill the role of Director General. As a member of our senior leadership team, you will play a crucial part in shaping the future of our organisation and contributing to the fight against sexual violence.

Your primary responsibility will be to lead the development and implementation of our organisational strategy, ensuring we remain at the forefront of providing high-quality support services to survivors of sexual violence. You will be responsible for driving innovation, improving service delivery, and promoting our mission and values across the sector.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive organisational strategy, aligned with our mission and values.
2. Lead and manage a team of professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentoring to ensure their growth and development.
3. Foster strong relationships with stakeholders, including staff, clients, funders, and partners, to promote collaboration and mutual understanding.
4. Ensure the organisation operates within its means, managing resources effectively to deliver quality services and achieve its goals.
5. Stay up-to-date with the latest research, trends, and best practices in the sector, applying this knowledge to inform our strategy and service delivery.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Proven track record of leadership and management experience in a relevant sector, preferably in a similar role or function.
2. Strong strategic thinking, planning, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate strategy into action.
3. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
4. Demonstrated commitment to feminism, women's rights, and social justice, with a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding sexual violence and its impact on individuals and communities.
5. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, promoting a culture of inclusivity, respect, and empathy.
6. Strong analytical and financial management skills, with the ability to manage budgets, monitor expenses, and make informed decisions about resource allocation.
