Job Title: Assistant Supplies Officer

Adecco is pleased to be recruiting for an Assistant Supplies Officer to join North Wales Police.

This is a Monday to Friday position, working 9am to 5pm, with a rate of £14.40 per hour.

Please note that this role will involve manual handling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Supplies Manager in receiving, checking, and recording goods delivered to the section.
  • Issue goods as requested and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist the Supplies Manager with general clerical duties, including raising purchase orders and progressing orders.
  • Perform stock checks and investigate discrepancies.
  • Collate information from the section or computer system as required.
  • Supply and fit uniform to staff.
  • Liaise with the Shared Service Centre Manager on routine order/invoice matters.
  • Progress and chase purchase orders.
  • Check invoices against orders and clear invoices for payment on proof of delivery.
  • Input details of all transactions to the computerised system.
  • Respond to new Force initiatives and advise customers on services and goods supplied.
  • Monitor stock levels and arrange destruction/disposal of returned clothing items or stock written off.
  • Organise collection of goods being returned to suppliers and ensure correct procedures are enforced.
  • Operate a good housekeeping policy and maintain a tidy work area.
  • Prepare and input data into the computer, ensuring accuracy.
  • Assist in the training of new staff on the computer system.
  • Receive customers, visitors, drivers, and telephone enquiries.
  • Undertake general stores maintenance, including stock relocation and stock checking procedures.
  • Monitor stock levels and bring shortages/surpluses to the attention of the Supplies Manager.
  • Advise customers on the maintenance of uniform.
  • Fit customers from stock where possible or label garments for alteration.
  • Submit 'special measure' sheets and place appropriate orders when necessary.

Requirements:

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Purchasing or a related subject.
  • Minimum of English and Maths at GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Previous experience of working in a similar environment to stores/supplies.
  • Basic IT skills, keyboard skills, and knowledge of processing orders/invoices.
  • Fit to carry out duties and tasks, including lifting and handling equipment.
  • Ability to work under own supervision and initiative.
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues, supervisors, managers, and other personnel as appropriate.
