The Met Office is looking for an ambitious and talented individual to join our Industrial Placements programme. As a member of our Observations Operations team, you will play a vital role in delivering weather observations from various networks and systems.

You will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge of observing systems, including surface weather stations and radiosonde. You will also work closely with Network Specialists to ensure the effective running of observing networks. Your duties will include monitoring performance, investigating issues, and contributing to tasks and projects that implement changes to our observing networks.

As a valued member of our team, you will present regular progress reports to colleagues, document your work, and participate in project and team meetings. To succeed in this role, you should possess a solid understanding of science or numeracy elements, with expertise in a high-level programming language like Python.
