About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Resource Manager to join our team at the Met Office. As a key member of our Systems Engineering Team, you will play a crucial role in integrating newly developed systems into our operational environment.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and coordinating tasks for a team of engineers to develop and install meteorological monitoring equipment and systems.
  • Assisting with the administration of financial forecasts and budgets to ensure cost-effective team operations.
  • Maintaining up-to-date work tasks and asset records using an asset management database.

What We Offer

In return for your expertise and dedication, we offer a competitive total reward package, including:

  • An estimated salary range of £45,000-£57,639 per annum, depending on experience.
  • A Civil Service pension scheme with an average employer contribution of 27%.
  • A Recruitment Retention Allowance (RRA) of £3,600 per annum, paid from April 2024 to September 2025.
  • Annual leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays), rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years.
  • The option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A track record of working as part of a team, planning own and others' work, prioritizing workloads from various stakeholders.
  • Strong technical skills, with evidence of applying engineering skills in installing, maintaining, or building complex scientific or environmental measurement systems.
  • The ability to communicate complex technical information effectively to users with varying levels of knowledge.
  • A proven ability to identify and implement changes and improvements to operational processes and services.
