Job Summary
We are seeking an exceptional Weather Observations Industrial Placement candidate to join our Observations Operations team. As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of weather observations and contributing to projects that improve our observing networks. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience working alongside diverse and highly skilled experts in the field.

Responsibilities
Monitor the performance of operational observing systems and investigate issues to provide information to users. Work closely with the Network Specialists to ensure the effective running of the networks and contribute to projects that implement changes to our observing networks. Present regular progress reports to colleagues and contribute to project and team meetings. Develop and maintain knowledge of our observing networks and systems, including surface weather stations and weather radar. Collaborate with other teams to share best practices and improve our services. Identify areas for improvement and suggest solutions to enhance our observing capabilities. Support the training and development of other team members as needed.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong foundation in science or numeracy and proficiency in programming languages, such as Python. You should also be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate complex ideas clearly, and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. Security clearance is required, and you must have resided in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years to be eligible. Annual leave starting at 27 days is included in the package.
