SEMH Learning and Development Mentor

We are seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team, working with young males aged 4-16 who have been permanently excluded from mainstream education due to social emotional mental health or behavioural needs.
The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of the national curriculum, the ability to deliver fun and engaging support in class, and experience working with challenging behaviours.
Key responsibilities include building good relationships with staff and pupils, dealing with challenging behaviour, and working one-to-one with students. Our organisation offers a competitive salary of £30,000 - £40,000 per annum, based on experience.
About the Role:
- Provide individualised support to students, promoting their academic and personal development
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement tailored learning plans
- Contribute to creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Support the teacher in managing student behaviour
Requirements:
- Degree in Education or related field (desired)
- Proven experience working with SEMH students (essential)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills (essential)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team (desired)
