Teaching Personnel Seeks Compassionate Teacher for Alternative Provision Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate teacher to join our alternative provision school in Totnes, supporting students with Education Health and Care Plans who thrive in tailored supportive learning environments.

This rewarding role involves delivering engaging inclusive lessons, inspiring and supporting the unique needs of each pupil. You will collaborate with a supportive team to create individualized learning plans, helping each student achieve their fullest potential in academic and personal development.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver engaging accessible lessons tailored to the needs of pupils with EHCPs.
  • Use a range of teaching methods and resources to connect with students who may face barriers in traditional educational settings.
  • Build positive trusting relationships with pupils, fostering a safe and encouraging classroom environment.
  • Monitor pupil progress and adapt learning approaches as needed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff support teams to ensure a holistic approach to each pupil's development.
  • Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in Alternative Provision or SEN setting desirable but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to connect with and motivate students.
  • Resilience, patience, and creativity in supporting students with diverse needs.
  • What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary of £38,000 - £48,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
