Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and qualified English teacher to join our team at a reputable Special Educational Needs (SEN) school group in Totnes. As an English teacher, you will be responsible for designing and implementing engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our students.

About the Role

  1. You will teach English to students with SEN and/or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, developing their literacy skills and confidence.
  2. You will work collaboratively with our multi-disciplinary team to provide tailored support, ensuring each student's progress and achievement.
  3. You will establish strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to promote students' academic and personal growth.

Requirements

  • You must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level (KS3/KS4) is essential, with a deep understanding of the national curriculum.
  • You should have a proven track record of working with students who have SEN and/or SEMH needs, preferably in an alternative provision or SEN setting.
  • Adequate training or qualifications in SEN/SEMH education are desirable.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, reflecting your expertise and dedication to supporting students with special needs.
