Our vision is to deliver 'great healthcare from great people'. We have a new way of working at East Kent Hospitals, called 'We care', which aims to provide high-quality patient care and improve the overall experience for our patients.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Applications Manager to lead our Digital Systems team. As a key member of the IT department, you will play a vital role in helping the Trust achieve its digital vision and support our clinicians and patients. The successful candidate will manage some of the Trust's most critical IT systems, including our patient administration system and electronic medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Plan, coordinate, and manage changes to systems that support the Trust's Information Team, ensuring reporting and data capture are accurate, complete, and in line with national guidelines.
  • Manage software releases: Authorize suppliers to make changes into live clinical environments following review of specifications and completion of testing and validation exercises.
  • Motivate staff within the Applications teams: Provide direction and leadership, staff appraisals, address welfare issues, advise on personal development, training, and coaching to maximize performance from individuals and satisfy personal aspirations.
  • Drive performance and standards: Through service reviews and building relationships with suppliers, evaluate changes to provide continuous improvements, driving performance and standards, coordinating resources, and establishing priorities to ensure excellent standards of system management.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in IT, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in managing critical IT systems, including patient administration systems and electronic medical records.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, and standards, such as NHS Digital ISNs, TRUD, SNOMED CT, and CQC mandates.

What We Offer:

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary, between £60,000 and £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will also receive a comprehensive benefits package, including pension, health insurance, and annual leave.
