Mental Health Support Coordinator

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient individual to join our Mental Health Service in Redbridge as a Mental Health Support Coordinator. This role offers an annual salary of £29,500.00, with 40 hours of work per week. Benefits include 25 days of Annual Leave, pension schemes, staff discounts, healthcare, and career progression.

As a Mental Health Support Coordinator, you will provide crucial support, including information, social inclusion, and vocational opportunities, to help individuals recover and maintain good mental health. You will also facilitate choice and control over care and daily life, as well as equal participation in the community. Furthermore, you will offer re-enablement support towards self-advocacy, self-management, and empowerment, incorporating recovery principles, co-production, and peer support.

This role involves shift working, including weekends, evenings, and bank holidays. To be eligible for this position, applicants must be legally permitted to work in the UK by the start of employment, as Look Ahead cannot offer sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Building supportive relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere
  • Conducting holistic assessments of new customers, incorporating relevant statutory referral information
  • Leading regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging to achieve Support Plan goals
  • Developing support plans to provide appropriate services based on ongoing assessment and reflecting available services and resources
  • Ensuring ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with customers while adopting a 'positive risk-taking' attitude
  • Providing support and access to relevant services to enable customers to continue recovering and empower them to self-manage medication regimes through individual re-enablement programs and informed decision-making
  • Collaborating with external stakeholders to enhance service outcomes
  • Establishing productive relationships with partner organizations to improve service outcomes
  • Demonstrating commitment to the functioning of the staff team and supporting colleagues in delivering high-quality services and ensuring customer safety
  • Engaging customers in designing, developing, and delivering the service
  • Adhering to lone working protocols and maintaining awareness of health and safety concerns affecting yourself and colleagues
  • Transferring key information between shifts
  • Providing structured guidance to other frontline staff in your area of expertise
  • Leading groups and activities, offering therapeutic and recovery-focused interactions and activities
  • Following all Look Ahead policies and procedures, and engaging in learning and development activities to increase knowledge and skills
