About the Position:
As a Research Vessel Master with Oregon State University, you will have the opportunity to work on board our state-of-the-art research vessels and contribute to groundbreaking oceanographic research. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of the ship, crew, and embarked scientists during research cruises that may last from one day to three weeks or more.

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the safe operation of the vessel, including navigation, ship handling, and maintenance of equipment.
- Coordinate research activities with the chief scientist and department heads to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Handle communication with customs, immigration, and other authorities as needed.

Qualifications:
- Current STCW endorsements as appropriate for this position.
- Ability to obtain a passport.
- Meet Coast Guard drug testing requirements.
- Ability to read, speak, and write English.

Estimated Annual Salary:$100,000 - $130,000.
