Job Overview

Invision Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Strategic Commercial Manager to join our team and take on a key role in the commercial management of our construction projects.

About the Role

  • As a Strategic Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial performance of our projects and ensuring that all commercial activities are aligned with our business objectives.
  • You will work closely with our Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Director to manage major work packages, including complex structure and facade packages, and provide accurate forecasts of activity and net margin.
  • Key responsibilities include:
    • Managing the procurement process and preparing procurement plans and schedules aligned to target production programmes.
    • Preparing the appointment of design consultants and leading the valuation and final account process.
    • Leading on the administration of subcontract agreements and resolving disputes above an agreed level.
    • Authorizing subcontract payments and ensuring compliance with monthly reporting cycles.
    • Leading on performance management issues and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • You will also be responsible for undertaking appraisals and making recommendations to line management over staff-related issues.

About You

  • We are looking for a candidate with significant experience of working on complex build projects in excess of £100m and managing a team of quantity surveyors.
  • You will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills and be educated to degree level (or qualified by experience) within the industry.
  • Possession of post-graduate qualifications in your specialism is highly desirable.
