Job Description for Experienced Maintenance Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Velocity Recruitment. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of facilities management services.

Job Summary:
  • Undertake routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in a two-person team on a required shift, providing support and assistance as needed.
  • Take part in the on-call rota to provide after-hours support when required.
  • Conduct thorough fault diagnosis and repairs on mechanical equipment.
  • E nsure all tasks are completed in accordance with established Method Statements and Risk Assessments to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Support management and supervision to ensure subcontractors are adequately supervised and comply with contractual requirements.
  • Regularly update logbooks, hand over shifts, and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
  • Hold mechanical qualifications from a recognized institution (NVQ/C&Gs).
  • Have experience in multi-skilled disciplines (electrical, fabric, water hygiene, painting, and carpentry) as a bonus.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive mechanical experience in both reactive and planned preventative maintenance.
  • Show ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team structure with minimal supervision.

Estimated Salary Range: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum depending on experience.
