Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Category Strategy Manager to join our team at Mott MacDonald. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for developing and executing category strategies for professional services.

This role requires a strong understanding of category management principles, as well as experience in implementing procurement policies and procedures. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced environment and will be able to communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels.

  • $80,000 - $110,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement category strategies to optimize cost, quality, and service levels for professional services.
  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices.
  • Lead the sourcing process, including RFPs, RFQs, and contract negotiations.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including performance management, risk assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' experience in professional services procurement.
  • Experience/knowledge of category, supplier, and contract management (specifically contracts over £1m).
  • Experience of implementing procurement policy, procedures, and governance.
  • Experience operating at both a tactical and strategic level with a track record of success in delivering financial savings.
  • Working knowledge of the Category Management process.
  • Experience working under category management-based approaches.
