Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Ward Clerical Officer to join our team at University Hospital Ayr. This 9-month Fixed Term position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, providing administrative support to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical and reception services, receiving patients and members of the public as they arrive at hospital.
  • Maintain and file patient confidential records, recording patient-related data, admissions, and out-patient appointments using our computerized patient administration system.
  • Answer telephones and relay messages, ensuring efficient communication within the ward area.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should possess excellent administrative skills, with the ability to work flexibly to meet service demands. You will also need to hold SVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent qualification/experience. The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday, 9am-3pm, for 30 hours per week.

Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary of £25,000-£30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits including annual leave entitlement and opportunities for professional development.
