Job Summary:

A fixed-term opportunity exists for a Radiology Specialist in Head and Neck Imaging. The ideal candidate will possess FRCR or equivalent qualifications and be available to start immediately.

About the Role:

This post has arisen due to increased demand for head and neck services and investment in cancer imaging pathways.

The NHS Lothian regional head and neck cancer service spans three sites, with rapid access clinics held in conjunction with ENT teams. The Department of Clinical Neurosciences provides sub-specialist services for skull base and otology teams, supporting orbital imaging for the Princess Alexandra Eye Hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in reporting general and emergency neuroradiology and head & neck CT and MR imaging
  • Undertake neck ultrasound studies, demonstrating competence in fine needle aspiration and core biopsy where required
  • Report head and neck imaging (CT, MR, and US) with supported reporting for complex cases
  • Prepare and present cases for regular MDTs and participate in post-take neurosurgical meetings
  • Teach and supervise junior trainees as part of the senior fellow role

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have FRCR or equivalent qualifications and be available to start immediately.
