Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time

NHS Scotland is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, where every employee feels valued and empowered to contribute their best. To achieve this, we welcome applications from all sections of society, and we are dedicated to making reasonable adjustments to our recruitment processes to ensure equal opportunities for all.

We are reducing our full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week, with no change in pay, and this reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This change will be implemented from 1 April 2024, but some service areas may require temporary adjustments to working patterns. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the Recruiting Board.

This role requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership/record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group, an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

We are seeking an experienced Team Lead Radiographer to join our Radiology Department at Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day running of Interventional Radiology services and staff, as well as developing knowledge and skills in areas of advanced practice to meet the service needs of the department.

The successful candidate will be required to act as a Lead Radiographer with specialist skills, responsible for a discrete subsection within radiology as agreed to meet service needs and ensure the delivery of a high-quality service. Experience in Angiography examinations is essential, and the successful candidate must have the knowledge and ability to update/change protocols and equipment parameters when required.

The post holder will be expected to participate in advanced practice to assist in developing the interventional service, while supporting others to train and develop skills and techniques in Interventional areas. You will be supported by the Radiology Service Manager to continually develop clinical knowledge and leadership skills and work alongside other modality leads sharing department leadership where required.

The successful applicant will be required to participate in the On-Call rota and provide cover for evening and weekend shifts. Our department is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including 2 Siemens Axiom Artis and 2 GE Innova IGS and 1 GE Allia 7.
