About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Services Team Leader to join our team at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Sterile Services department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of sterilization and decontamination within our Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of Sterile Services Operatives, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards.
  • Coordinate daily operations, including prioritization of workload and ensuring timely processing of instruments.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with clinical departments to understand and meet their needs.
  • Conduct regular audits and implement corrective actions to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of working in a production or quality-controlled environment.
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines.
  • Experience of coordinating a production process.
  • Knowledge of the complete sterile services production process.
  • Sound understanding of the quality management system ISO 13485:2016 for medical devices.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to train, motivate, and develop others.
