We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sterile Services Team Leader to join our team at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Sterile Services department, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of Sterile Services Operatives, ensuring the highest standards of decontamination and sterilisation of medical devices for use in clinical areas across our Trust sites and outlying clinics.
Main Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of Sterile Services Operatives, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Coordinate daily operations, including prioritisation of workload and ensuring timely processing of instruments.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Collaborate closely with clinical departments to understand and meet their needs.
- Conduct regular audits and implement corrective actions to maintain the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Level 3 SSD Supervisors/Managers course in Decontamination of Medical Equipment (or equivalent) or willing to complete within 12 months of appointment.
- Previous experience of working in production or quality controlled environment.
- Experience of working to tight deadlines.
- Experience of coordinating a production process.
