Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

Leader Education is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND) school in Sunderland.

This secondary school caters for young people aged 11-19 years with Autism and/or complex learning difficulties. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students with diverse needs and a commitment to providing a positive learning environment.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a fully enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Have experience of working in a transferable role.
  • Assist pupils in lessons and activities.
  • Be flexible and resilient, meeting the diverse needs of students.
  • Work effectively with parents, carers, and other members of multidisciplinary teams to provide the best support.
  • Be confident in working alongside students, ensuring they are fully supported within their learning and general classroom activities.
  • Possess communication skills that can be personalised to suit students of different abilities.
